Privacy, in plain language.
This policy explains what LinksWall collects, why we use it, what becomes public on a Wall, and how to contact us about your information.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies when you visit LinksWall, create or manage an account, publish a Wall, browse public Walls, or contact us. LinksWall is the service name. For privacy questions, contact support@linkswall.com.
Privacy laws can apply differently depending on where you live and how the service is used. Where a law gives you additional rights, we will handle requests in accordance with that law.
2. Information we handle
- Account details: name, username, email address, password hash, verification status, and the time-zone setting supplied during registration.
- Wall content: profile name, biography, profile image, theme choices, links, titles, descriptions, media references, and collections you choose to add.
- Usage and device information: public Wall views and link-click events may record the Wall or link involved, referring page, a broad device category, and IP address. The service also receives ordinary connection and browser information needed to deliver and protect the site.
- Messages to us: the email address and information you include when asking for support or exercising a privacy right.
Do not put sensitive personal information or another person’s personal details on a public Wall unless you have a lawful reason and permission to do so.
3. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify email addresses; recover access; publish and display Walls and collections; provide creator analytics; respond to support requests; prevent abuse and maintain the service; and meet legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting LinksWall, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required. You can withdraw consent where processing depends on it; this does not affect processing already carried out.
4. What is public
A public Wall, its profile details, links, and enabled collections can be viewed by anyone with the address and may be indexed, copied, or shared by other people. Do not publish information you want to keep private. You can manage or remove Wall content through the account features provided, subject to backups and legal retention requirements.
Links may take visitors to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices; LinksWall does not control them.
5. When information is shared
We disclose information to service providers that help host, operate, secure, or deliver LinksWall and its emails; when needed to respond to legal process or protect people and the service; or as part of a business transfer. Public Wall information is shared by your choice when you publish it.
We do not use public Walls as permission to send marketing messages. We do not sell personal information for money. If our practices change in a way that triggers a legally required notice or choice, we will provide it before the new processing where required.
6. Your choices and privacy rights
You can update your account and Wall details in LinksWall. You can also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to ask a question about how it is used. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may also have rights to data portability, restriction or objection to processing, to withdraw consent, to complain to your data-protection authority, or to opt out of certain disclosures. California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete covered personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing as those terms are defined by California law. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
To make a request, email support@linkswall.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant data-protection authority or regulator in your location.
7. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. No internet service can promise absolute security. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and analytics records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Exact retention periods depend on the data and operational requirements; contact us if you have a question about a particular record.
Information may be processed in India or other countries to provide the service. We will apply safeguards for international transfers where required by applicable law.
8. Children
LinksWall is not designed for children under 18. Do not create an account if you are under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will post the current version here and update the date above. If a change requires notice or consent, we will provide it in the manner required by law.
